Abandoned Cats Rescue (ACR) is the longest established cat rescue group in the Hamilton area. We're a Canadian Registered Charity that is entirely volunteer operated and donor funded. We respond to requests to help abandoned and neglected cats, strays, and pets needing to be re-homed. All cats and kittens taken into our care are placed in loving foster homes and, prior to being put up for adoption, are vet examined, flea/worm treated, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped and provided with treatments or surgeries for any identified medical issues. We never euthanize an animal in our care unless that animal is suffering and beyond any type of medical help. We believe that there is the perfect home for ALL of our cats and that each of them deserves a chance to be loved forever!

FEATURE CAT - JEWEL

Jewel is definitely a little gem. This petite girl was rescued by a kind person that noticed her living outside and very pregnant. Jewel gave birth to 6 beautiful healthy kittens in her foster home on June 19. She was a wonderful and attentive mother and the babies have since been adopted into loving homes. It is now her turn to be the center of attention.

Jewel has really come out of her shell and no longer hides. She is very quiet and sits in her favourite chair most of the day, but when I come home, she comes running for some pets and to say hello. She has a meow that is more like a squeak, which is very cute. She comes in the morning to snuggle and make biscuits on me before I get up for the day. She doesn't love being picked up but will tolerate it and is getting better about having her nails trimmed.

She loves being the centre of attention and rubs against everyone she meets to try and get some love and pets. She is such a lovely cat and we love having her around. She is doing amazing and living her best life now that she doesn't have any kids to take care of. She has also been obsessed with my slippers lately and will play and sleep on them lol. She has so many fun quirks and always makes us laugh.
